For the past three years, the Council has co-sponsored the Sustainable Agriculture Systems Approach Training Conference. This three day conference deals primarily with issues concerning conservation tillage, cover crops, Farm Bill, organic farming, and the environmental benefits that support conservation tillage practices. The conference offers scholarships to farmers who are eligible. Poultry Litter Pelletizing Project Continues Council members Orson Adams and Rick Reed, along with others from the Seven Rivers area have met with state officials to discuss potential funding for the proposed Poultry Litter Pelletizing Plant in Southeast Georgia. State and federal officials were impressed with the commitment that the poultry growers have made toward finding alternative solutions to address poultry waste in the state of Georgia.
