Rural Decentralized Water Systems Project
Seven Rivers received a $200,000 grant from USDA Rural Development. This very successful program, beginning in 2010, assisted 22 low income homeowners install or improve well systems by financing the well or repairs at 1% interest for up to 10 years. An additional 127 wells have been added. In 2021 the Household Water Wells Systems has now changed to the Rural Decentralized Water System program and septic systems has been added to the program. Low-income homeowners can now apply for a well, septic system or both if needed. The loan will be financed at 1% interest up to 15 years if necessary.
